hey I just watched the BAFTAS, & to everyone who thinks award ceremonies are for big budget hollywood blockbusters a) Amelie won a couple, i think, it was at least one, awards, and b) They have an award for best newcomer, the winner of which thanked Film Four for helping them get recognised.

Also, Peter Jackson, the director of the film that won the most awards, started off as a kid with a cine cammera, so even these people who use Hollywood to fund their films, often, start off where we are now. I know I dont want to only make films that'll be shown at Cannes and one or two other film festivals, only to be forgotten by everyone else, I want some recognition for my work

Does anyone know if any Jeunet films are coming out on DVD? I wouldn't mind hearing the main homme grappling with english to tell us how he decided on certain things (eg the spring/sex/cello/braces/rug-beater scene in Delicatessen.

Delicatessen should definitely win this year.
And Errol Flynn for Robin Hood.

city of lost children is available on dvd in the uk (with no extras) and in region 1 (with loads) dunno about delicatessen, which is a much better film (check imdb.com) and amelie is coming out soon with a director's commentary, etc
